SUPPLY LIST: Virtual MAKEart class April and May
A set of gouache paint, any brand. If you don’t have gouache you could also use watercolors, however, gouache will be talked about in reference to projects. If using watercolors they will have a more transparent look compared to the more opaque gouache paints. Other common places to order from besides amazon as seen below are blick.com, walmart pullup and pickup, hobbylobby.com, arteza.com, or michalels.com
A few paint brushes - use what you have around. Ideally a round brush in a small size (like a 2) and medium in around a size 6 work ideally.
A palette to mix on, a plastic or styrofoam plate work just fine- or if you have a porcelain glazed plate that you could donate to the cause lying around would work out great.
If you have a sketchbook with heavier paper lying around, these are great exercises to complete within it. Or you could just use loose Paper, ideally watercolor paper. I like the Canson XL brand seen below as a good student grade paper, which you can drive and pickup from walmart if it’s in stock. If you don’t have any watercolor paper, use cardstock paper, a heavier paper is going to work better with paints.
A sheet or two of black cardstock (if you’re using gouache paint). If you choose to use watercolor, stick to white watercolor paper for the particular project.
A roll of masking or painters tape is helpful, but not essential
Scraps of colored paper, scissors, glue stick, and a heavy sheet of cardstock paper.
If you order from Blick.com - use the code below for 30% off and free shipping for $79 and above.
